Swiss Foundation for Mine Action


The Swiss Foundation for Mine Action (FSD) is an international mine action organization based in Geneva, Switzerland.

This private, independent, and non-profit organization was created in 1997 and since then, it has implemented a number of mine clearance projects in more than 15 different countries.

Land release through clearance of landmines and explosive remnants of war for at-risk border communities in the remote Afghan Darwaz district of Badakhshan Province, Afghanistan.

The aim of the project is to release land affected by landmines and explosive remnants of war (ERW)land through technical survey and clearance operations using 2 x multi-purpose demining teams to reduce hazards and remove potentially lethal obstacles to livelihoods among communities close to the Afghanistan - Tajikistan border.
