CROSS-BORDER INTEGRATION AS THE KEY TO REGIONAL STABILIZATION
The PATRIP Foundation and its partners support economic and social development in the border regions of Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Pakistan, bridging political divisions and enhancing cross-border cooperation in a bid to promote stabilization in the region.
Afghanistan has entered a transitional phase, with responsibility for security being gradually transferred from the international community to the Afghan government. While transition will be completed by the end of 2014, continued civilian involvement by the international community remains essential.
As an independent institution, the PATRIP Foundation demonstrates effective ways of attracting resources to the region and improving economic opportunities in Afghanistan's border areas beyond 2014. The Foundation has already made a significant contribution towards forming critical cross-border partnerships and agreements by engaging local and national governance structures.
